I was out today at the local "geezer mall," and a nice English lady sold me a Doulton Burslem plate with a gorgeous equestrian scene on it, for $17. I wanted to show eviltomble my amazing cool plate, so I did what any modern person does...
Doulton Burslem Hunting - Thomson A plate D2215
Scene 2: One lady and five gentlemen trotting
Designed by Hugh Thompson
From this website, I learnt how to read the embossed date on the back, which indicates that my plate was made in October of 1906. They want $195AU for it, and the other site wanted $350AU. My plate is in very good condition, considering that it is so old. It has minimal crazing and a few kiln marks and brown bumps on the back, that you typically see with older china.
